March 2020. During the first lockdown, everyone wondered how to stay connected from a distance. Does a screen create separation, or can it also foster intimacy?
The Experience
Fifty stands hold fifty iPads, where people from a distance logged in. Each visitor has their own designated spot in the hall, allowing them to connect directly with top artists. Chills run down the spines of both the artists and the visitors as they reconnect. At this moment, it’s as close as you can get to a live experience.
Background
When maintaining distance is of crucial importance, it is essential to stay connected. We started 'Project Touchscreen' with people working in the culture and event industry.
There was an interaction. I liked feeling that, it was not a one-way street. The audience also touched me.
